Mobile Ticketing

Swiftpass mobile ticketing exploits two existing trends;
- that increasingly a mobile telephone handset is the essential device we keep with us at all times.
- that the convergence of technology enables those mobile handsets to perform transactions such as ticketing and couponing.
Swiftpass mobile ticketing is a development of standard text messaging. The ticket can come in the form of a two dimensional barcode or a standard, linear one dimensional barcode, both of which are sent using the full array of message types; EMS, nSMS, WAP & MMS. The type of barcode used is dependant upon the individual customer and the scanning requirements. However, where possible, we would always recommend the use of a 2D barcoded mobile ticket.
The Swiftpass 2D barcoded mobile ticket delivers:
- greater encryption and more data capacity than traditional linear barcodes
- space for further content to be displayed within the message
- in-built error correction which allows tickets to be read from scratched screens
The latter is especially important when considering that scanning mobile phones is inherently difficult due to light, resolution and reflection issues. At Swiftpass we have developed market-leading hardware that addresses these issues. Swiftpass has a full range of scanning hardware that has been manufactured and designed specifically for mobile phones; handheld, kiosk, and turnstile. At the point of redemption, the handset and barcode are scanned and validated on a local database that replicates in real-time with the Swiftpass central server.
The Swiftpass system allows tickets to be acquired via many channels including the web, kiosk, WAP, IVR and call centre. What's more, Swiftpass mobile ticketing can be seamlessly integrated into most legacy systems that currently manage your ticket sales and distribution.
